Litter Announcements

All interested clients must undergo a phone interview and sign Savantk9’s purchase agreement, prior to submitting a non-refundable deposit. We report any preferences on the basis of performance through continous evaluation of each prospect’s potential as a working caliber dog between 6 and 8 weeks. Puppy selections are first come first serve from whichever selections are availible at the time the deposit is received. We reserve the right to first pick male and female.

 

  • A MINIMUM $500 non refundable deposit will hold a puppy. The order in which the deposit is received, determines pick order. In the event your puppy preference is unavailable, we will return your deposit, or apply it to another litter of your choosing.

  • Unless specified, all puppies will come cropped, with the procedure completed by our vet. We do not dock tails.

  • Pick up is preferred; ground or air shipping arrangements are the sole responsibility of the buyer. We can refer you to our preferred ground/air shippers. All shipping arrangements are to be made at the buyers expense.

  • We can provide our purchase agreement upon request. Unless specified, all pups come with a 2 year health guarantee and lifetime breeder support.

Stronghold’s Nero x Savant’s Uzi

Fall 2025, with puppies expected Winter 2026

This will be our second “Savant Alaunt” Litter - with this particular pairing allowing us to further “refine” this family of dogs. Uzi is our personal holdback female from 2023’s Nero x Amina. A linebred Bella Granddaughter, Uzi carries natural suspicion, defensive aggression and a civil edge. Bella has proven to be a pivotal contributor as we seek to maintain the versatility the mastiff character brings to the table without being dominated by the sighthound influence.

At 27” and 95lbs Uzi is an immensely strong dog, with deep and expansive prey drive, intelligence and biddability not often seen in lurchers. She brings a high pain threshold, size, substance, and an enthusiasm for fur we’ve come to expect of our stock. Naturally aloof with strangers, she’s not a social dog, but will tolerate them when required. She’s fast - but having been thrown heavily towards the mastiff side, she lost quite a bit of speed and cornering when compared to other “lurcher types”. We expect that this will be remedied when bred back to her sire Nero.

Nero continues to be a cornerstone of our program. A first cross APBT x Staghound from Midwest coyote lines, Nero bring the stability, confidence, and environmental soundness that has eluded many sighthound crosses. Coupled with immense speed, stamina, and willingness to remain engaged - Nero continues to prove WHY we’ve continued to implement his genetic contributions to our program. Nero is a large, confident and stable dog, with a ready for anything attitude and a pleasant demeanor amongst strangers. He’s dominant socially, and displays a level of territorial aggression that has surprised us. We hope that by breeding him back to his daughter Uzi, we can improve the Savant Alaunt type both phenotypically and mentally, enhancing structure, reducing maturation time, and maintaining the character we’ve come to demand from the cross.


NOTE: Sighthound Types are NOT plug and play dogs, but a skillful handler will yield a refined assassin. They finish quarry as opposed to fighting it and require a breed specific approach tailored to their strengths as they develop their skills. These are running dogs - and must be worked as such. They only thrive when allowed to Chase. Catch. Kill. Fortify that confidence first - and they’ll take whatever you throw at them.

Perfect for Fox, Coon, Coyotes, or Hogs. Equally at home as an active family pet and deterrent. Weve been working to ensure that they have some defense drive and will stand their ground. Instinctive off switch, low dog aggression, biddable, dry mouthed and easily managed indoors and out.

We are expecting seal, fawn, and brindle puppies.

  • All dogs will be cropped

  • 40% APBT, 35% Staghound, 25% Mastiff (embarked %)

  • We are expecting dogs between 25-28” and 80-110lbs.

  • We will require a deposit to be placed on a waitlist. Order of deposit received determines “pick order”. In the event the pup you’ve selected is unavailable we will return your deposit or move it to another breeding.

    Puppies will be sold for $1700

    Despite being highly capable active family companion guardians, priority will be given to working homes. Interested parties may contact us, as we are willing to negotiate or even waive the purchase price for verifiable working enthusiasts.
